November 1, 2009:
Well, another Halloween has come and gone. You know what that means? Yup, we're headed into the crazy Christmas season. Can you believe it?! How does time manage to just slip by like that?? Oh well, no point deliberating those things we cannot change, right?
Us beagles are very pleased to inform that, with some technical recording issues out of the way, the final mixes for the songs which will appear on our forthcoming album, tentatively called "Stay", are back underway! BR friend, engineer, producer, Jeff Burns has been working diligently to get things back to this stage. It's looking to be an early Spring, 2010 release now, so stay tuned here for more info as things develop. We'll post a song or two on the website prior to the album's release.
In other beagle news, a video shoot for the song "Staying Home" is scheduled for early December. We're extremely pleased that Jason Brown will once again be in the director's chair. There's not much more we can tell you about the video at this point, as Jason's concept is a bit of a secret, but we hear it features one or more of us as race car drivers! Curious? Yeah, us too. We'll post some video stills and clips soon, so please come back and check it out.
And finally, we'd like to welcome Miles Krowicki as the BR's alternate drummer. Seems that Josip's musical schedule is pretty hectic these days as he also performs bass duties with Calgary funk-pop mainstays El Chupacabra, and with the super-talented Brent Tyler. So it was a mutual decision to bring in Miles to fill some gaps. You may recognize Miles' name from his work with Talking Dog, another Calgary indie band held in very high regard by the BR! Early indications are that Miles will bring some hard-hitting energy to the BR's rhythm section, yet still maintain the drumming flavour established by Josip.

Beat Niq is one of our favourite venues, and if you have not been, then you really should. It's a cozy, downstairs jazz club most of the time, but our friend Gerry is kind enough to alter the format on occasion and throw us Beagles a bone.
We are releasing a CD Single for "Whisper" on Aug 6, 2009 for the unbelievably reasonable price of $7. A previously unreleased song will appear as the b-side to this single.
